  • 24oz May's Kalua Pork
  • 2 Large Peeled, Diced Potatoes (Cooked)
  • .5 cup Minced Onion
  • .5 cup Salted Butter
  • .25 teaspoon Granulated Salt
  • .25 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • Vegetable Oil for Pan Frying

Step 1
In a medium size pot, fill ¾ with water, and bring the water to a boil. With the water boiling, carefully add the 2 peeled, diced potatoes. Boil until cooked thoroughly and soft. Drain water and mash until smooth. Next, in a fry pan, add 1 Tbsp of salted butter, and sauté the ½ cup of minced onion. Sauté until the minced onions are translucent, and then mix in 24 oz May’s Kalua Pork.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, carefully mix the mashed potatoes, kalua pork mixture together. Season with salt and pepper to taste. After mixing, let the mixture cool.
Step 3
After the kalua pork mixture has cooled, make 3 oz portions of the mixture into small, round cakes. After you form the cakes, use the flour to coat the outside of the cakes. Lay the cakes out on flat tray in preparation for frying.
Step 4
Once the kalua pork hash cakes are made and floured, heat the fry oil up to 350F in a fry pan. Fry the Kalua Pork Hash Cakes on both sides until golden brown on each side. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
