Radford High School Teachers and May’s Hawaii Chef Ryan Day and May’s Food Service Sales Executive Rose Char at the HCEF High School Educators Workshop.

Chef Ryan Day and Sales Executive Rose Char participated at the HCEF High School Educators Workshop presented by Chef Alan Wong at ChefZone for 35 high school culinary teachers and chefs. Chef Wong conducted a tasting of local meat, chocolate, coffee, honey, and cheese. Under his instruction, the educators explored flavor, taste, and sustainability. They were inspired by Chef’s leadership lessons and provided with classroom applications.

Students in Jamie Kahalewai’s culinary class at Radford High School received expert instruction in preparing a turkey dinner. Under the guidance of May’s Hawaii Executive Chef Ryan Day, the students received raw food safety and handling tips and experience in preparing and carving a turkey, preparing two types of stuffing, making gravy and fresh cranberry sauce. They enjoyed sampling their creations at the end of the class, too.
